Unfortunate.......

We have become aware that a person that we do not know personally , but who is connected to our family through unfortunate circumstances, has been reading this blog, drawing incorrect and misinformed conclusions and then using that information to harass members of our family.

I feel really sad that although I do not know this person, she has chosen to use something that is important, innocent and a blessing for me, in a way that is hurtful to others.

First Steps.......

This little boy took his first steps tonight!!!!  Just after I'd changed his nappy and put his snuggly sleep suit on, he walked from Mummy to the couch.  And then several times from Mummy to the couch and then from Mummy to Poppy, and then from Mummy to Daddy and back again.  The look on his face was priceless, he knew he was doing something really clever and he was so excited, I love that he kept trying and trying!  I am thrilled that both Michael and I were there to see it!  Poppy was really excited and just wanted him to keep walking to her!   It won't be long before he is chasing us around everywhere! And he stood up from the floor without support for he first time too!   Today he is 14 months and 2 weeks old!

Layout a Day (LOAD)......

I am trying this month to complete a Layout a Day via a class at Big Picture Classes called The Mother LOAD with Lain Ehmann.  Here are the first  8 days.  I did digital pages due to time constraints - at least I can multitask TV with scrapbooking via the Laptop.

The amazing Stacy Julian and Kayce Reyhn from Big Picture Classes have again provided their customers with an awesome summer (USA Summer) class in the Big Idea Festival.  Here is my mini album......

Absolutely love how this came together - it was great to get something finished!  And it was cool to reflect on where our life is at now!  Thank you BPC!

Today.......

At 3 years 6 months and 10 days of age, Poppy ate her first strawberry! Go Pops!

Remembering Nan......

Remembering a wonderful woman, who truly lived all of her 94 years, who overcame adversity, who never said a bad word about anyone.  Remembering my Nan, who loved me unconditionally, who cuddled me and chastised me as I needed it.  Remembering curly soft hair, twinkling eyes and warm smiles. Remembering sound advice, firm guidance, an amazing role model.  Remembering love, laughter and happiness.  

I miss you Nan!!! It is hard to believe it has been a year since we said "see you later".

Right Now.........June 2011

POPPY...........

• Grew a Mr Grassy Head ( a Kindy Project).
• Finally moved from her Toddler Straw Bottles to a Sports Bottle (albeit a Toy Story and Fairies Sports Bottle).
• Has started asking for more "little girl toys", like Littlest Pet Shop, Strawberry Shortcake, Lalaloopsy, Little Ponies.
• Loves Strawberry Shortcake and Playschool DVD's.
• Has taken to having a rest in the Theatre while watching DVD's after lunch.
• Likes to read books again, and especially loves reading them herself - she makes up great stories.
• Is a chatterbox and never stops telling us what is going on and telling us stories.
• Is developing her creative play in leaps and bounds, she plays with her toys and makes them do things that she does and takes them on adventures etc.
• Loved playing Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom on Wii.
• Is really interested in copying Mummy and Kobe with her own Baby Doll.
• Wipes off our kisses!!! Cheeky thing!!!
• Is very interested in Birthdays and Birthday Parties.
• Has started really being interested in other kids and playing with them.
• Has cottoned on to shopping and asking for things!
• Loves her brother to pieces and is really loving playing with him, making him laugh and enjoying time with him.
• Still hates having her hair brushed, and is still having it brushed with a baby brush.
• Is learning to kick more consistently at swimming and is confident swimming with her floaties on
• Is still experiencing "three year old emotion swings", but is starting to be able to "reason" and make choices as to how she behaves.
• Has taken to calling me "mama".
• Is so gorgeous and scrumptious - we love her to bits!

KOBE.......

• had a really big month - he turned one!
• learned to go to sleep at night without Mummy holding or rocking him - that is big!
• Started to drink his Rice/Soy Milk really well at meal times and weaned off breast milk completely - yeah!
• Is really preferring finger food and is favouring sweet food right now.
• Got Grommets put in after several ear infections and bad cough/colds.
• Is cutting his twelfth tooth - last of the first four molars!
• Is pulling up and cruising around furniture!
• Can get from tummy to sitting and vice versa.
• Learned to crawl at 12 months and 1 day! 
• Can stack up the rings on the stacking pole.
• Loves music and dancing and shaking.
• Loves Twinkle Twinkle, Galump went the little green frog, incy wincy, Dingle Dangle Scarecrow.
• Chews on his blankie.
• Loves playing Row Row Row your boat with mummy and Poppy.
• Kisses the air!
• Is moving between two and one sleeps per day.
• Loves cuddles with Mummy and playing on the floor with Daddy!
• Is starting to wake up later thank goodness - between 5.30am and 6am.
• Is sleeping through mostly from 6.30am to 5.30am (except when teeth are cutting.)
• Has a really cheeky smile and loves to play and giggle!
• Is enjoying exploring!
• Is a wonderful, amazing little boy!  Such a sweetie pie!

MICK & NARELLE.....

• Sold our very much loved first ever home that we built......and although we were happy to sell it, we were very sad to see it go!
• Learned that you can make tasty dairy free cakes!
• Still need more sleep!!!!

Kobe is One!!!

It is difficult to believe that this was 12 months ago.............

 This little boy has ensured that we have had quite an eventful year.  He is so so sweet, and so so cute and so so cheeky!!!  And he has certainly grown!  At birth he was 3.315kg, 51cm long and head circumference was 36cm.  Now he is 10.75kg (almost 2kg heavier than Poppy at same age), 78cm long and head circ is 48.25cm.

Guess who is teething - tooth number 12 (the last of the first four molars), is on the way through!

We had a fabulous time celebrating his first year!

 Woke up at 6am (which is late for Kobe).  Was not that interested in presents or wrapping until he started to bang them like a drum.  Poppy was keen to open them for him - so she had a great time!  Once he had surveyed all the new goodies, he rolled on over to the old toys for a play!  

Pops had plenty of kisses for her baby brother!  We went to Blend for morning tea and then off to Kobe's immunologist appointment.  His blood test for the cow's milk allergy came back clear but he still reacts strongly on the skin prick test - which is the true indicator - so we now are the proud owners of 2 Epi-pens and we are now dairy free for another 12 months until the next review.

Home and while Kobe was asleep Poppy and I made a Double chocolate dairy free cake.

Which eventually ended up like this......

For a non cook, I was actually pretty chuffed that it does look a bit like Cookie Monster!  And even though it was all dairy free - it tasted pretty good!

Cutting the cake is a whole family affair....including cousin Mikayla.....

A lovely family day........Happy Birthday little man!

And the next day he started to crawl...better late than never...especially given that he is already pulling up on furniture and cruising around, and can get from tummy to sitting and vice versa..... I don't think he will crawl for long - he loves to walking holding our hands!

Digi play......

At the moment, my new scrapbook space in the new house is full of boxes - so any time of paper based scrapbooking is out of the question until the boxes are unpacked.  I have had to create using digital items........ here are a couple of quick pages thanks to some fab layed templates from some awesome designers.........
